Breaktocreate
You have 60 seconds to break widely-held assumptions about children and young people. Only by breaking them can we create new understanding of the attitudes that control the lives of under-18s. However, if you have 60 minutes, then dig deeper and identify the ordinary qualities and objects in your life that can turn each of us into a children’s rights activist… or superhero.
Breaktocreate was launched in 2019 as part of ARTIVISM, the first-ever human rights pavilion at the Venice Biennale.
UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) illustrated
This project took shape during our first exhibition at the Royal Festival Hall in London and is now coming out as a book in the form of the illustrated CRC with plain language commentary. In the face of new and ongoing issues faced by children and youth, we have a responsibility not only to keep re-reading their human rights under the CRC, but also to re-present them.
